She was involved in the launch of BBC Online and contributed to many new services as the web grew within the BBC, including blogging, social media, games and education. At Disney, as Director of Online, Julie was in charge of websites across Europe, growing teams and content in twenty-three countries and developing output for mobile and tablet platforms. At  Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) in November 2014  developed and launched an innovative social impact digital platform, Common Good First. As of November 2019, Julie is Director of Communications and Digital Engagement at GCU, in charge of internal and external communications for the University.
